Parental Volunteering Requirement
Parental Volunteering is important to the success of our program. We have several important positions that must be covered at our home games if we are to have smooth-running games for our players, fans and visiting teams. All parents are required to volunteer for three home game volunteer slots for each child participating in the program. Game-day assignments will be made by the volunteer coordinator. Please click here to visit the Volunteers Page.
If you are interested in becoming a team volunteer coordinator please e-mail Lucy Colman at
.
What to bring to Equipment Day:
All unpaid registration fees (equipment will not be distributed if fees are not paid in full).
Equipment/Volunteer Deposit Check for $100 made payable to HPYFA. Equipment and uniforms will not be distributed unless the program receives the Equipment/Volunteer Deposit check.
Mouthpieces available for purchase - $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. If you purchase mouthpieces from another source, it must have a tether that connects the mouthpiece to the face mask.
5-pocket pad shorts available for purchase - $15.00 each
Preparing for Practice:
It is mandatory to have a physical before you can begin to practice. Please turn in proof of your physical and a photocopy of your birth certificate on your first day of practice to your coach. PLEASE NOTE: Most birth certificates contain the Social Security Numbers of the parents. Make sure to safeguard this information when you are making a copy of your birth certificates.
All practice uniforms and pads will be fitted and assigned to each player on Equipment Day. Also available on Equipment Day will be the popular 5-pocket pad shorts. The 5-pocket pad shorts allow more proper and stable fit of the 2 hip pads, 2 thigh pads and the tail pad. Players at all levels will enjoy more freedom of movement and considerably more comfort with the 5-pocket pad shorts. Since it is an under-garment the program does not furnish them due to sanitary reasons, but they are available to purchase at our program’s cost.
The first three days of practice are primarily physical conditioning. You are required to wear your helmet, mouthpiece (available to purchase on Equipment Day), rubber football cleats or fiberglass male post type (no metal cleats are allowed), loose fitting shorts, cup and shirt. Also remember to bring your own WATER container. After three days of conditioning, you will need to come in your full practice uniform.
